Frequently Asked Questions

  • Out-of-network physical therapy offers direct payment at the time of service, bypassing your health insurance. This ensures that you receive higher quality of care with more 1-on-1 attention and personalized treatment from your physical therapist. You have the flexibility to address multiple health and wellness concerns without insurance dictating the number of sessions you receive, how long you can receive physical therapy services, and what treatments they will reimburse. This approach often results in quicker recovery and lower long-term costs for you.

  • Cash-based physical therapy puts your needs first, not your insurance company’s rules. You get longer, one-on-one sessions with the same Doctor of Physical Therapy every visit, no treatment limits, and no surprise bills. Without the restrictions of insurance, we can focus entirely on your goals, use the techniques that work best for you, and often save you money.

  • Many insurance plans require you to pay the full, in-network rate for physical therapy until your deductible is met. For most in-network PT clinics, that rate is $300–$400 per session even if you have health insurance.

If you need 8 sessions, that could mean:

    • In-Network: 8 × $350/session = $2,800 out of pocket (until deductible is met)

    • Cash-Based at Nordic Performance (8-Session Package, 10% Off): $149/session → $1,072 total out of pocket

That’s a savings of over $1,700—and with us, every visit is a full 60 minutes of one-on-one care with the same Doctor of Physical Therapy, no insurance restrictions, and no surprise bills.

  • We accept various forms of payment including cash, credit cards, and debit cards.

You can also pay for services with your Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA).

  • Yes! You are able to use your HSA or FSA funds to pay for treatment for yourself, your spouse, or your dependents.

  • While we do not bill insurance companies directly in order to provide you with the highest quality of care that we can, we can provide you with a detailed receipt or "superbill" that you can submit to your insurance company for potential reimbursement.

  • No, you do not need a referral to start physical therapy with us. You can book an appointment with us immediately. That being said, we also accept referrals from your physician!

  • During your first visit, our physical therapist will conduct a thorough examination, discuss the findings of this examination, and initiate a customized treatment plan for your specific needs.
